Innovative course structure
Architecture, as a synthesis of arts and science, requires integration of creative ideas and constructive practices. Rizvi College of Architecture provides an academic programme in an appropriate framework for learning.
The five-year Bachelor's Degree programme in architecture of University of Mumbai incorporates Design and Planning, Arts and Humanities, Science and Technologies, Practice and Management components, The dynamic academic programme ensures that while students progress from the basic to complex and from general to particular, they acquire synthesis of awareness, skills and applications. Thus each year enables students to enhance their knowledge.
The Council of Architecture has introduced a new course structure 3+1+1 from 2008. The Ad Hoc Board of Studies in Architecture of the University of Mumbai has adopted the following new structure as per COA 2008 norms. It is expected that the same shall be approved by the University and implemented from the academic year 2009-2010.
Post Graduate Programmes
Rizvi College of Architecture has been in the forefront to campaign for starting post graduate programs in architecture and related fields since 1994. RCA approached the concerned authorities at national and state levels to start post graduate programmers in urban design, urban and regional planning architecture and housing. We are pleased to announce the following M.Arch programmes:
M.Arch (Urban design ) and M.Arch (Urban and regional planning), University of Mumbai
M. Arch (Environmental architecture) and M.Arch. (Urban and regional planning) Y.C.M.O.U.
The Masters in Architecture courses have a sanctioned intake of 20 seats each. The courses are based on semester systems. The M. Arch. Courses are approved by the Council of Architecture and are affiliated to the University of Mumbai and Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU).

Rizvi College of Architecture has initiat 5 year full time Bachelor of architecture and master of architecture affiliated to YCMOU with an intake of 40 students. At present the following courses are conducted at the college with adequate faculty, interactions and backed by computer centers equipped with internet facility.

Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA)
CAA Part I and Part II
Rizvi College of Architecture is one of the four colleges in India to have been granted the prestigious approval by Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA)., London, U.K. Part I is for the first three years and CAA part II for the final 2 years of B.Arch. The graduates of the college can pursue further studies in the U.K., USA, Europe and other countries. The approval is periodically revalidated through CAA expert visitation in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Architects.
Asia Link Programme
Under the banner of Asia Link, supported by European Commission, two year joint programme was launched in January 2005. This was a collaborative study programme between Rizvi College of Architecture, Mumbai, School of Architecture, CEPT University, Ahmedabad, India and Ecole d’Archiecture de Paris La Villette, France and Cambridge University, U.K.
The first project was based in Mumbai to study slum redevelopment schemes, 15 French students had come to Mumbai along with their faculty member Ludovic Jonard and they were joined by 30 RCA students from 4th year. 5 RCA students went to Paris to present their work in the month of May 2005 and 2006 along with three RCA faculty members.
In 2006 40 students from RCA and 15 students from France studied heritage precinct of Kasbapeth, Pune and urban renewal project of Laxmi Nagar, Pune. 10 RCA students and three faculty member went to Paris to present their work in 2007. In the academic year 2006-2007 students from RCA and CEPT, Ahmedabad worked on sustainable humane housing for urban periphery of Surat.
